Living in this particular slice of paradise, it is impossible not to have some creative stirrings, and I’ve tried with variable success to capture a sense of mood and movement in my painting.
I’m a local GP and have no history of art training.
I have an unhelpful combination of macular degeneration and impatience, which together result in a chaotic mix of brushes, fingertips, pencil/charcoal and varnishes.
The ocean and beach are my preferred victims although I’m also dabbling with portraits.
I suppose an impressionist style best describes my efforts I had several paintings sold in the McClelland Gallery in Whangarei, and have a connection with McAtamney Gallery in Geraldine.
I’m enjoying this new hobby and look forward to new inspiration and new challenges….one of which is the concept of selling art!!
